New Roam 300GB plan at $80 a month

RV Mobile Internet reported on May 14, 2026 that Starlink added a middle Roam tier: 300GB of high-speed data for $80 a month, then unlimited low-speed data for the rest of the month. It filled the gap between Roam 100GB and Roam Unlimited.

Plan ladder: Roam 100GB, Roam 300GB at $80 a month (new, May 14, 2026), and Roam Unlimited. After 300GB, service drops to low-speed unlimited data.

What changed

RV Mobile Internet reported on May 14, 2026 that Starlink added Roam 300GB at $80 a month. At the time, the other choices were Roam 100GB at $50 and Roam Unlimited at $165. (Two days later, Starlink raised 100GB to $55 and Unlimited to $175; 300GB stayed at $80.)

As reported, Roam 300GB:

  • includes 300GB of high-speed data a month;
  • after that, gives unlimited data at reduced speed for the rest of the billing cycle, “suitable for emails, calls, and texts”;
  • supports in-motion use up to 100 mph, like other Roam plans;
  • was open to new customers with a Mini or Standard dish, with existing customers able to switch.

The report described it as the same terms as 100GB with 200GB more data for $30 more, at the prices of that day.

Starlink’s Roam plans page now lists 300GB alongside 100GB and Unlimited, and says that when you exceed your allowance, “service automatically switches to low-speed unlimited data.”

Who is affected

  • Travelers who paid for Unlimited only so they wouldn’t run out. Many use more than 100GB but well under what Unlimited allows.
  • Weekend campers who kept hitting the 100GB cap near the end of the month.
  • Remote workers with steady video calls but not much streaming.

What it means for you

The question is simple: how much do you really use in a month on the road? If it’s between about 100GB and 300GB, this tier is likely your plan. If it’s over 300GB, or you travel outside the US and Canada, Roam Unlimited is still the fit.

What to do now:

  1. Check last month’s usage in the Starlink app. That’s better than any estimate.
  2. Compare days of travel. Our 100GB vs 300GB guide shows how many days each lasts at light, medium and heavy use.
  3. Know what happens at the cap. Our data cap page explains low-speed mode and how to upgrade mid-month; Starlink says a mid-cycle upgrade gives you the new plan’s full allowance.
  4. Let the plan picker do the math for a full year, including months you pause.

What changed since

  • International use: since July 14, 2026 for new customers (August 17 for existing), Roam 300GB works only in your home country or grouped region. For US accounts that’s the US, Canada and US territories. Abroad needs Roam Unlimited.
  • Price: 300GB was the one Roam plan that did not go up in May 2026.

What stays the same

  • In-motion use and inland waterways are covered, as on other Roam plans.
  • No $1-per-GB top-ups: after the cap, you slow down instead of paying more.

How we handled this report

The same report described a chart Starlink briefly published and then pulled within hours, showing tighter abroad limits. We didn’t treat that chart as policy. We first posted the new plan as a short note on May 14, 2026 and expanded it on October 6.

Today’s values (from our checked data, not from the date above): $80/mo (checked Oct 5, 2026) · 300GB (checked Oct 5, 2026) · after the 100GB or 300GB runs out, service drops to unlimited low-speed data that handles email, calls and texts; streaming, big downloads and video calls are limited (checked Oct 5, 2026).
