What changed
Inseego announced on July 30, 2026 a multi-carrier certified version of its MiFi PRO M4 5G hotspot, sold through distributors, resellers and channel partners in North America. Earlier versions were tied to one carrier.
Per Inseego, it has:
- dual-band Wi-Fi 7 for up to 50 devices;
- a Gigabit Ethernet port;
- two TS9 ports for external antennas;
- a color touchscreen and cloud management.
“The unlocked, multi-carrier certified MiFi PRO M4 gives partners and customers a powerful option combining 5G router performance with portability and carrier flexibility.” (Inseego, July 30, 2026)
RV Mobile Internet reported on August 5, 2026 that the unlocked model is sold as the M4000 at a $449 list price, is certified for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and also covers bands used in Canada and Mexico. The report says it does not support 5G mmWave.
Who is affected
- RVers who want one hotspot that can switch carriers depending on where they travel.
- People pairing cellular with Starlink. The Ethernet port lets the hotspot feed a travel router as one of two internet inputs.
What it means for you
A good hotspot can be all the internet a short-trip camper needs. Our guide on when a hotspot beats any satellite plan walks through that math. If you camp where phones fail, the hotspot becomes the cellular half of a two-link setup; the router guide shows how to wire that.
The external antenna ports matter in an RV, because a metal body blocks a lot of cell signal. For the bigger picture, see RV internet options compared.
What stays the same
- Nothing about Starlink plans or prices changes with this.
- You still need a data plan from a carrier; the device doesn’t include one.
How we handled this
The specs and date come from Inseego’s own announcement. The price, carrier list and model number come from a press report, so we label them reported. We have no business relationship with Inseego and have not tested the device.

What we don’t know yet
- Where consumers can buy it. Inseego's announcement names distributors, resellers and channel partners, not retail stores.
- Whether every carrier's hotspot or data plans will activate it. Certification is not the same as a plan being sold for it; check with the carrier.
- Real-world speed and battery life. We have not seen independent tests.
